Ambar Navarro (b. 1991, San Antonio, TX) is a filmmaker and artist based in Los Angeles, CA. Studying Experimental Animation at the California Institute of the Arts, she received her BFA in 2015 and practiced stop-motion under her mentors Paul Vester and Janie Geiser. Concentrating on directing music video, narrative, and commercial, she continues to show and curate at galleries including the Tate Modern, Espacios Ananas, and Werkartz. Her practice usually involves playing with scales and locations, crossing fantasy and reality, and often mixing live-action with animation. She recently won the Audience Award competition and will have her own 6 episode stop-motion docu-series as part of Bese premiering in 2019.
